Dogecoin looks weak below $0.07, yet one signal hints the selloff is fading

Dogecoin (DOGE) maintains a neutral-to-slightly bearish outlook on Tuesday as the largest meme coin holds just below the critical $0.070 support level.

Defending this area could encourage traders to increase their exposure and improve the prospects of a short-term recovery. 

However, several moving averages remain above the current price, highlighting the significant resistance DOGE must overcome to reverse its broader bearish trend.

Dogecoin targets first positive month since April

Dogecoin has gained less than 1% so far in August, raising the possibility that the meme coin could end its three-month losing streak.

Market data shows that DOGE declined 5.9% in May, 28.3% in June and 3.4% in July. April remains its only month of notable outperformance this year, when the token posted a return of 15.6%.

Holding the $0.070 support could help Dogecoin preserve its modest August gain and potentially establish a more constructive foundation heading into the final months of the year.

Still, the recovery remains fragile. DOGE needs stronger buying pressure and a breakout above nearby technical barriers to confirm that its prolonged correction is losing momentum.

Activity in the Dogecoin derivatives market remains relatively strong despite the muted price action.

Perpetual futures Open Interest stands at $1.18 billion on Tuesday, slightly above the $1.17 billion recorded on Monday. 

Open Interest has risen significantly from $989 million on June 11, indicating a steady increase in active futures positions.

Elevated Open Interest suggests that retail traders remain engaged with Dogecoin. Continued participation could provide support during periods of broader market weakness and increase the likelihood of a sustained recovery.

However, rising Open Interest does not reveal whether traders are predominantly bullish or bearish. 

Increased leverage can also amplify volatility and trigger sharper price movements if DOGE breaks decisively from its current range.

Dogecoin price outlook: Bulls target $0.075 resistance

Dogecoin trades below $0.070 and remains beneath several moving-average resistances, preserving a bearish short-term structure.

The first major obstacle is the 50-day Exponential Moving Average at approximately $0.074. 

The SuperTrend indicator at $0.075 reinforces this supply zone, making the area between $0.074 and $0.075 the immediate barrier to a stronger recovery.

A decisive close above this region could bring the 100-day EMA at $0.080 into focus. Beyond that, the 200-day EMA at approximately $0.095 represents the most important resistance level for a broader trend reversal.

Momentum indicators offer a cautiously constructive but inconclusive outlook. The Relative Strength Index is near 46 and gradually rising, suggesting improving momentum while remaining below its neutral level.

Meanwhile, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator is marginally positive but beginning to flatten. 

This signals limited directional conviction and indicates that buyers have yet to establish firm control.

Traders using top crypto trading apps can also monitor these levels closely as DOGE approaches a potentially decisive support test.

On the downside, $0.069 remains the first level bulls must defend. A sustained break beneath it could expose the former trendline area around $0.065.

A daily close near or below $0.065 would increase the risk of further losses.

Conversely, holding above this region would preserve the possibility of a corrective rebound, even as Dogecoin remains within its broader bearish structure.
